Monte Carlo – The Hermitage
Like Monte Carlo’s Hotel de Paris, the Hermitage is a lavish Belle Époque hotel located just steps away from the Monte Carlo Casino and facing the Mediterranean. It opened at the turn of the twentieth century, and features frescoes, opulent decorations and a glass-domed Art Nouveau dome designed by Gustav Eiffel.
Together with the Hotel de Paris, the Hermitage is owned by the Société des Bains de Mer.
The Hermitage includes 227 rooms, 24 junior suites and 21 suites. Many of the rooms, which are elegantly decorated, overlook the Monte Carlo harbour and the Palais du Prince.
The hotel recently completed renovation of its Beaumarchais Lobby and of the harbour-view rooms of the Prince’s wing.
The top floors include eight Exclusive suites and one Duplex that has a private terrace with jacuzzi and sea views. Suites and Junior Suites have harbour view terraces and jacuzzis.
See Monaco’s official travel site for Hermitage room rates and packages. Alternatively, contact the hotel at telephone (800) 595-0898 or e-mail email@example.com.
The Hermitage includes one restaurant, Le Vistamar, which serves Mediterranean-style fare and seafood, and includes a terrace for al fresco dining in summer. Under chef Joël Garault, Le Vistamar has been awarded a Michelin star. In the hotel lobby, the Limùn Bar is open from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. It serves light meals and afternoon tea, as well as drinks.
